Lenten Celebrations & Preparations

ASH WEDNESDAY falls on February 22nd this year. The distribution of ashes will occur during the Mass times of 8:00am, 12:10pm, 4:30pm, 7:00pm & 8:00pm (Spanish) all in the Main Church.
 
ASH WEDNESDAY AND GOOD FRIDAY are days of fast that binds all Catholics from the age of 18 up to 59 years old (health permitting). A fast consists of one meatless meal, and some nourishment two other times that should not be add up to equal to a full mean. Medicine and water do not break the fast.
 
ALL FRIDAYS OF LENT are days to abstain from eating meat binding all Catholics 14 years old and older. A simple and meatless meal is a type of penitential practice to help us spiritually prepare for our yearly Easter celebrations.
 
STATIONS OF THE CROSS ON FRIDAY Stations of the Cross will be celebrated at 7pm during Lent in the Chapel.  El via crucis estará celebrado en la capilla a las 8pm cada viernes durante la cuaresma. On the First Fridays of the month, Stations of the Cross will be celebrated together with the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. 
 
LENTEN PARISH MISSION - THE EUCHARIST: A Gift of God’s Love The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal February 27th, 28th and March 1st at 7pm in the Main Church.  Come and grow deeper in your faith through prayer and inspiring talks as we begin our Lenten Journey of 40 days.  God’s gift of the Holy Eucharist is not only food for our journey, but Jesus Christ himself who walks with us to strengthen our love of God, our love of neighbor, and our hope in a life that never ends. Confessions will be available and there will be time to offer prayers for healing and peace.
