Advent Giving Tree

During the four weeks of Advent, our parish will put up an ADVENT GIVING TREE to give us a chance to bring Christmas joy to the children of the inmates at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. The prison may NOT accept clothing in  black, orange or gray; toy guns; knives or any item that promotes violence. Monetary gifts are ALWAYS acceptable as well as gift certificates to Target, Kohls etc. Please take a star from the Giving Tree and return your gift(s) UNWRAPPED to the bottom of the tree. After the gifts have been returned, we will then light the tree showing that the light of Love has now entered our parish. PLEASE DO NOT WRAP ANY OF THE GIFTS! Thank you for your generosity to these dear children….it will certainly make your Christmas more meaningful.  It will also be a great teaching moment to the children about the true meaning of Christmas.  Click HERE for complete holiday wish list for 2015.  Contact Marge Farrington with any questions.

We also collect CHRISTMAS CARDS and CALENDARS

Fr. Gamini Fernando, Catholic Chaplain at Greenhaven State Prison is in need of unused Christmas cards & calendars, which he may give to the inmates for their use. Please give your cards, including all-occasion and note cards to Marge Farrington.
