Church Year Dedicated to Saint Joseph

Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has dedicated this year to the care and intercession of Saint Joseph. Information on upcoming events and places of pilgrimage will be forthcoming and printed in our bulletin.

PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH
O Saint Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and foster father of Jesus, assist us by thy powerful intercession, and obtain for us from thy Divine Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, all spiritual blessings needed to persevere in our daily tasks giving glory to God for all his gifts. Then, one day, may we meet at the heavenly banquet to give joyful praise and thanksgiving to God for the gift of eternal life together with Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the saints and angels of heaven. Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, pray for us before the throne of Jesus. Amen

ACT OF CONCRECATION TO SAINT JOSEPH
Beloved Saint Joseph, adopt us as your children and take charge of our salvation. Watch over us day and night, and preserve us from all occasions of sin. Obtain for us purity of body and soul, and the spirit of prayer, through your intercession with Jesus. Grant us a spirit of sacrifice, humility, and self denial. Obtain for us a burning love for Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, and a tender love for Mary, our Mother. Saint Joseph, be with us in life, be with us in death, and obtain for us a favorable judgment from Jesus, our merciful Savior. Amen. (by Saint Bernadine of Siena)

BLESSING OF SAINT JOSEPH STATUE
When you visit our cemetery you will now notice a large statue of Saint Joseph a few feet behind the crucifix by the entrance. The statue was donated to the cemetery by the Knights of Columbus, Sisqua Council. They are making plans to move their meetings to a new location, and they wanted to have Saint Joseph placed in a Catholic setting. I want to thank the Knights of Columbus for thinking of us. A 10 inch high gray granite pedestal is planned to raise the statue off of the surface foundation. Donations are appreciated. The statue Saint Joseph is located at the head of the section of graves reserved for priests who have served our parish. The blessing of the statue will take place on the feast of Saint Joseph, March 19th 2021. More details to follow.
