Educational Ministries

CCD

CCD instruction is offered through the School of Religion.  Mrs. Jeanette Tuzzolino; C.R.E. and her volunteer catechists, guide the children through their journey of faith.  The program materials and teachings are approved by the Archdiocese of NY. Parent and child involvement and worshiping together is encouraged in the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Church. CCD runs from September to May, Registration begins in the June.  For more information visit our religious education page.

Family Mass

During the Family Mass the children from the CCD program take part in the Sunday Mass.  The children greet parishioners, read the Word of God, bring up the gifts and assist the Ushers.  This takes place on the 4th Sunday of the month, September to June.

Jesus Time

Is an opportunity for the children to hear the Word of God in a friendly, easy to understand way.  It takes place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month during the 9:30 am Mass, Program runs from September to June.

Adult Catechism

We welcome adults who wish to become new members of the Roman Catholic Church. We offer studies for those who are not baptized, baptized into another Christian Church or baptized into the Catholic Church but have yet to receive the sacrament of Eucharist and/or Confirmation.  Bible study groups are also formed through out the year, length of each study may vary.

First Friday Book Club

All are welcome to join our book club!  The book club meets every first Friday from 9:30am -10:30am in the Media Room above the CCD office next to the parking lot of St. Francis of Assisi.  Read the book currently being discussed or just join us and listen in on the discussion. 

Current book:  "Render Unto Caesar:  Serving the Nation by Living Our Catholic Beliefs in Political Life" by Archbishop Charles Chaput.
